Silver Fern

The New Zealand Silver Fern Visa for 2010 will open soon, and is expected to be in high demand.

New Zealand Immigration expects that demand for the 300 places under the New Zealand Silver Fern Visa  will be very high, and so are advising potential applicants to register for online services in advance to ensure the best possible change of lodging an application.

Once full, the Silver Fern Job Search Visa program will close for 2010 and will not be available again until 2011.

The Silver Fern Job Search Visa will enable skilled professional aged between 20 and 35 who meet qualification requirements to enter the country to search for a job. Holders of a Silver Fern Job Search Visa who successfully find employment may then apply for a Silver Fern Practical Experience Visa, which allows them to work for two years.

Those who do gain a place under this policy, but have skills and experience that New Zealand needs, are invited to look at other New Zealand immigration pathways, including our Skilled Migrant Category.

The New Zealand Visa Bureau is an independent consulting company specialising in helping people with their New Zealand visa applications to the New Zealand Embassy.
