New Zealand immigration stats show need for UK workers
People are needed for New Zealand immigration more than ever as the country deals with people moving permanently to Australia. Figures released by Statistics New Zealand have revealed that the number of people moving away from New Zealand increased last year by 7,000. According to the statistics, more UK nationals have moved to New Zealand, than any other country.
Prime Minister Helen Clark, said: "The population grew by about three percent in the first five of six years of this century and that was done by net migration. The reality is many skilled people come to live in New Zealand from other places." She added that the government would love to see Kiwis build their lives and careers in New Zealand but "there will always be people who want to try their luck somewhere else".
Meanwhile, the New Zealand government has announced the changes to the skilled migrant category will be introduced today. Immigration officials will now use a different method to work out if a job is classed as skilled. New Zealand online visa assessments are available for people considering New Zealand immigration.
New Zealand needs skilled workers: Anyone applying for a New Zealand visa should begin by taking the New Zealand Visa Bureau's online New Zealand visa assessment to see if they meet the basic legislative requirements.
