Graduate Job Search Work Permit

Students who have been unable to secure an offer of employment may apply for a 6 month Graduate Job Search Work Permit under the Study to Work Policy.

To qualify you must:

• Have successfully completed a qualification in New Zealand that would qualify for points under the Skilled Migrant category; and
• Apply no later than 3 months after the end date of your Student Permit.

Evidence you will need to provide:

• Evidence that you have completed a qualification that would qualify for points under the Skilled Migrant category;
• Evidence that you have a minimum of NZ$2,100 available to maintain yourself during your 6-month stay in New Zealand; and
• Evidence that your application for a Work Visa/Permit is no later than 3 months after the end date of your Student Permit for that qualification.

You may apply for a 2 year Work Permit if you obtain an offer of employment (relevant to your qualification) while on a Graduate Job Search Work Permit.
