New Zealand Partner Visa (Married/Fiancee/De Facto)

Your relationship (marriage, fiancee or de facto) will only qualify for a New Zealand Partner Visa if you can provide evidence you and your partner have lived together for a period of 12 months or more.

Partners will only be eligible to sponsor an applicant if they:

Have not previously supported or sponsored more than one other successful principal applicant under the Partnership Policy; AND
Have not previously supported or sponsored any other successful principal applicant under Partnership Policy in the 5 years immediately before the date the current application is made.

In addition, they will not qualify as a sponsor if they:

Were the perpetrator of an incident of domestic violence that has resulted in the grant of a Residence Permit to a person under the special policy for victims of domestic violence; and
Were a successful principal applicant under Partnership Policy:
If less than 5 years have elapsed since the date they were granted residence under the Partnership Policy; OR
If they have previously supported or sponsored any other successful principal applicant under Partnership Policy.

You and your sponsor (married, fiancee or de facto) may have to attend an interview with a New Zealand Immigration representative if they are not satisfied you are a bone fide visa applicant.
