Canadian Immigration Lawyer

Visa Bureau requires a candidate with at least 1-3 years of experience in providing immigration advice and assistance for immigrants hoping to qualify for migration to Canada to act as the new Canadian Immigration Lawyer.

Job Specifications

Salary: Negotiable depending on experience.

Location: London.

Position: Full time.

Experience

The ideal candidate will have the following experience and acquired knowledge:

• Hands-on experience in all aspects of immigration law, including skilled worker visas, business and family visas, temporary work permits and study permits.
• Knowledge of related fields. These can include human rights, welfare benefits, and employment law in relation to work and business visas.
• Experience in an online environment and knowledge of Internet business will be considered an asset.

Main Duties

The chosen candidate will be responsible for building our Canada immigration, visa and work permit division. The main duties will be:

• Working with our in-house communication team to develop the service offering, and then work with marketing to implement successful client acquisition strategies.
• Dealing with client enquiries.
• Building a corporate client base.
• Handling submissions and appeals.
• Generating management reports.
• Hiring paralegals as the caseload grows.
• Promoting the interests of clients and the company at all times, and working harmoniously with others.

Core Skills

The candidate should be able to demonstrate the following:

• Candidates must be members in good standing with the relevant law society or bar of their respective province in Canada (CSIC).
• Compliance with the requirements set out by your provincial/state law society or bar.
• IT skills, such as experience with the Microsoft Office suite, are essential.
• Up-to-date knowledge of all aspects of immigration law for the nominated position.
• An ability to comply with the company's standards for quality and client management.
• An ability to produce high-quality work under pressure.
• Ability to prioritize tasks, deal with competing demands, and self-manage day-to-day activities.
• An ability to deal impartially and courteously with clients from different cultural backgrounds and with varying English skills.
• Excellent communication and legal writing skills.
