Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program

Manitoba is geographically the centre of Canada, although it is commonly refered to as being a part of western Canada. Its capital is Winnipeg and the province boasts stunning lakes and rivers offering plenty of opportunities to enjoy the great outdoors.

The Provincial Nominee Program allows provincial governments to choose immigrants according to the economic needs of the province.

Each province:

• Establishes its own standards and processes by which it chooses its nominees; and
• Tries to nominate those candidates who would be most likely to settle effectively into the economic and social life of the region.

The Provincial Nominee Program is not points tested.

The Manitoba government is looking for migrants who have:

• Sufficient training in their occupation;
• A level of English that will allow them to work upon arrival in the province; and
• Have settlement supports to help them upon their arrival.
