Provincial Governments

In Canada, the provincial governments are formed in much the same way as at the federal level. The political party with the most number of seats in the legislature forms the government; the leader of this party becomes the Premier.

Provincial governments are responsible for:

• Civil justice;
• Property; and
• Municipal institutions.
