Canadian university and college students believe working for the government is their best option, a survey released last week found.

A survey has found 25 of the top employers to work for in Canada.
The 2010 Canada’s Top Campus Employers Report surveyed 27, 000 university and college students, including international students, asking them to select from a list which employers they would most like to work in Canada for. Respondents were also invited to nominate a preferred employer if they were not included.
Fourteen of the 25 top employers selected were governments, of all levels, government related agencies, and non-profit organizations.
Graham Donald, one of the reports co-authors, says that the choices reflect a desire among young people to do meaningful and interesting work but the stability and high pay of government jobs was also a major consideration.
Some 57 per cent of respondents were looking for job security and the prospect of staying with a company or organization for life.
