Canadian immigration minister announces new online resources for new migrants

The Canadian Government has created a new internet resource for new migrants to help them settle quickly and easily into the country.

A new online resource will help new Canadian immigrants settle into the country.

The new internet resource can aid by finding information on how to start a new business to opening a bank account, to detailing the range of government and settlement services available.

Canadian Immigration Minister Jason Kenney made the announcement of the new service, which can be found at www.servicesfornewcomers.cic.gc.ca.

“The Services for Newcomers resource has been put in place to help newcomers find the private sector and government services they need to succeed. With this resource, newcomers will easily find the many services available to them, such as how to buy their first home,” said Minister Kenney.

Minister Kenney said this resource can only increase migrants’ chance of successful integration within their new communities, which is an important goal for Canada.

The online resource will be continually updated with new information on services available.

Settlement services are an essential part of the federal government’s immigration program, assisting new migrants settle, adapt and integrate into Canadian society.
