New Zealand being used as "giant transport lounge" for Australia immigration

People are moving to New Zealand in order to make them more eligible for Australia immigration, it has been claimed. Politicians in New Zealand have said that migrants are using the country as a "giant transit lounge" before moving on to Australia. The Unite Future party has revealed figures which show that almost 30 per cent of people moving to Australia from New Zealand were born abroad.

The leader of Unite Future, Peter Dunne, said: "We rely heavily on overseas migrants to bolster and fill the gaps in our workforce. If we are losing large numbers of skilled migrants to Australia, then our economy is in big trouble." Anyone interested in Australia immigration may not have to take as drastic a measure as moving to New Zealand. Australia migration services and Australia resources and information are readily available to potential migrants.

Skilled workers are particularly needed in rural Australia. A study by the University of Western Australia recently revealed that people are having to travel hundreds of miles in order to meet the increasing demand for their trades.

Australia needs skilled workers: Anyone applying for an Australian visa should begin by completing the Australian Visa Bureau's online Australian visa application to see if they meet the Australian visa requirements.
