UK workers choosing Australian immigration

The number of people choosing to move away from the UK rose last year, as Australian immigration and New Zealand immigration increase in popularity. Government figures have shown that around 250,000 people emigrated from the UK last year, and Australia, New Zealand and the US were among the most popular destinations.

With the number of people choosing to emigrate from the UK increasing by a fifth from the year before, it is thought that high crime levels and taxes are driving people away. With skills shortages in countries such as Australia, more people have been filling in Australia visa online assessments and searching for Australia resources and information.

In 1997 only 149,000 people left the UK to try and find a better life elsewhere, meaning there has been an increase of 70 per cent in people migrating away from the UK in the last ten years. The Australia Needs Skills expo will be coming to London in March, which may provide a further boost to people in the UK choosing Australian immigration.

Australia needs skilled workers: Anyone applying for an Australian visa should begin by completing the Australian Visa Bureau's online Australian visa application to see if they meet the Australian visa requirements.
