Australian immigration agents to have English level requirements raised

Australian immigration agents will have their English Language Competency Levels raised for those applying for the profession.

All potential Australian immigration agents will have to have their English Language Competency Levels at an overall band score of 7.0 when applying for initial registration as a migration agent.  This includes a minimal score of 6.5 in each module of reading, writing, listening and speaking, and similar requirements for the Migration Agents Registration Authority (MARA) will be published later in the year on the MARA website.

The new requirements for potential Australian immigration agents will come into effect 1 January 2010.
