Australian Prime Minister to meet Indian counterpart to discuss Australian Student visas
Australian Prime Minister Kevin Rudd has flown to India on a mission to improve Australia's ties with the country, particularly in regards to Australian Student visas.
Rudd will also discuss high-end science, technology and education collaboration and the fast growing economic and trade partnership with Indian leaders.
His visit comes after a number of Australian collages collapsed, leaving international students unable to continue studying. The Australian Government has announced special measures for those on an Australian Student Visa who need to apply for a second visa as a result of being unable to conclude studies with the original education provider.
Rudd will meet top business leaders in India's commercial capital Mumbai before meeting the Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh in New Delhi on Thursday.
