Statement on the bushfires crisis in Victoria

Visa Bureau offers its sincere condolences to all those who have been affected by the bushfires that swept across the state of Victoria this weekend. The tragedy has resulted in over 100 lives lost and cataclysmic levels of property damage, with some towns almost completely destroyed.

We hope that those affected can take some solace from the unequivocal support shown by Australians everywhere, as well as the many messages of sympathy and promises of aid that have come in from the international community.

We also applaud the efforts of the many firefighters, paramedics, emergency service workers and volunteers who have shown great courage and self-sacrifice at this very difficult time.
