Rise in overseas tourist numbers to Australia
The number of Malaysian visitors traveling to Australia under an Australian tourist visa has seen a slight rise.
The Australian Bureau of Statistics reported today a 0.5 per cent increase in short-term visitor arrivals in September, which was also 0.5 per cent higher than in September 2008.
The highest percentage increase in Australian tourist visa holders over the year to September was recorded by Malaysia (22.6 per cent).
There was strong growth in American and Indonesian visitors over the year to September, up 12.1 per cent and 18.6 per cent respectively.
All foreign nationals wanting to travel to Australia for tourism purposes must have an Australian Tourist Visa. The most popular of these is the ETA Visa, which is electronically attached to your passport. The ETA Visa is easy to apply for online, and as it is almost instantly processed you can be ready to travel in minutes.
