Australia, NZ cheaper options for American international students
Australia and New Zealand have proven themselves to be the better option for international students during the economic downturn.
According to Earthtimes, the strengthening American dollar against the Australian and New Zealand dollar is making costs for international students a lot more affordable in those countries.
Australian student visa holders can also work up to 20 hours per week, which is a great way to immerse in Australian culture and make connections within the Australian workplace, while also earning some pennies to travel Australia during their holidays.
Australia is currently the sixth most popular destination for Americans studying abroad, and during 2006-07 the number of Americans choosing international study rose by 8 per cent.
