New Temporary Work Visa to be Introduced

The Australian Government are considering introducing a Short Term Mobility Visa category. This visa is designed to replace the existing e400 visa which allows skilled entrants to work for up to six (6) weeks.

The Short Term Mobility Visa would be most suitable for foreign workers through intra-company transfers and would allow companies to fast forward the 457 skilled worker visas by bringing employees to Australia for up to one year without the effort of applying for the standard 457 employer sponsored visa.

The Short Term Mobility Visa is a one year, multiple entry visa for foreign skilled workers. This visa will not require the current language and skill assessment of foreign workers, additionally the employers will not be required to provide the evidence of the local labour market testing.
