IT Occupations: Australian Computer Society (ACS)

If you intend to apply for migration to Australia under one of the General Skilled Migration categories, you must have a nominated occupation which is on the Skilled Occupations List at the time you apply. In order to make a valid application, you must have obtained a skills assessment from the relevant assessing authority for your nominated occupation.

The Skilled Occupation List (SOL) – Schedule 1 contains 6 ANZSCO codes assessed by the ACS for skilled independent applicants.

The Consolidated Sponsored Occupation List (CSOL) contains 24 ANZSCO codes assessed by the ACS for nominated or sponsorship applicants.

What educational qualification and work history will I need to meet the ACS application criteria?

To meet the ACS application criteria, you will need to meet their educational qualifcation and work history requirements. However, this varies depending on your level of education and amount of work history.

Bachelor Degree or Higher with an ICT Major

Bachelor Degree or Higher with an ICT Minor

Non ICT Bachelor Degree or Higher

Diploma and Vendor Certification

Work Experience Only - Recognition of Prior Learning

Recent Graduate

Please Note: Your result letter for a “Recent Graduate” type application will NOT state a “Skill Level Requirement Met Date” as work experience is not required to be assessed.
