Piers Morgan faces US Visa difficulties

Piers Morgan has had difficulties obtaining a US Visa to replace veteran broadcaster Larry King on CNN this autumn.

It is believed CNN have had to ask King to postpone his final show to allow time for Morgan to obtain a US Visa. CNN have never formally confirmed Morgan's appointment – possibly because of the uncertainty of the visa issue – and have declined to comment on reports that King's departure has been delayed.

Morgan’s difficulties appear to be just bad timing as his application went in during a period when immigration reform was a hot issue in the US.

Morgan’s current US Visa allows him to work part-time on Simon Cowell's show America’s Got Talent, but he needed to change to a visa that allows him to work full-time with CNN.
