New countries may be included in the US Visa Waiver program.

The US Visa Waiver Program allows foreign tourists from selected countries into the US for up to 90 days without having to obtain a tourist visa.

Instead, tourists must apply for an ESTA or Electronic System for Travel Authorization, which can be applied for online and takes only one to three business days for processing.

Mr Dow made the announcement while speaking at the International Pow Wow, an important annual travel conference in the US.

“We are looking at the possibility of extending the Visa Waiver program for Argentina, Brazil and Chile,” said Dow.
According to Dow, this extension could happen in the next 26 months “although there are still a lot of steps to be taken”.

Recently, the US government announced the US Visa Waiver extension to include the Greece.

The US Immigration Visa Waiver program now includes the majority of Western Europe, along with Canada, Australia, New Zealand, South Korea and Singapore.
